Well, I have officially been in Haiti for 8 days now. So far, It has been great!
First few days were hard, no doubt. But homesickness has worn off and I am in my element. First day we arrived in PAP around 3:30pm and we met up with Michelle and was taken to her house which is where im living now. It's awesome! Second day we drove out to Thomazues which is dry and outbeats hell in heat Im pretty sure. But it's great! The orphanage we stayed at is called Children of Hope & Hospice which is a great organIzation(I capatalized if Allison Robison or my family reads this!) with great people who love on the children and great cute as can be kids! We stayed 2 nights there and then came back to Port due to the Hurricane. I will be staying in Port the remainder of my trip but will visit the orphange and others too! The family im staying with is from TN which is awesome and so are they so it works out:) Hmm, Let's see: I saw my first dead body in Haiti in my eight days which was insane to say the least! We made over a hundred rehydration packets for anyone who has caught Cholera or might after the hurricane! I went to my first Haitian Halloween party which was all americans , actually. ha. I have roughly been eaten alive by misquitos. I had a bug fly up my nose in my sleep which cause a small heart attack i think. And many more amazing things happen in just a short time:) The family I am with has 2 kids of their own and are in the process of adopting a little boy and has a girl who lives with them and teaches english to a international school here. They also have a sweet little baby named Melissa who is 8 months old and weighs 8 pounds who was abandoned at there clinic. She has down syndrome and a heart defect and happens to be the cutest baby ever. She has many mommy's around here who love her and I got to meet the lady who is adopting her soon and will be her mommy and she is wonderful!
Everything is going great here so far! I love Haiti. I of course miss home though and everyone there and can't wait to see everyone. But until then I plan on doing whatever God calls me to do. Hope everyone is great see you in a few weeks:)
