So, today is halfway through my journey on this trip. I have two weeks left and just keeps getting better. I still miss home, my family, my boyfriend and everyone else. But man, God is doing incredible things! Today we were planning on a quiet day to go to the Apparent Project and then the clinic, However God had other plans. We were about to leave and Michelle got a call from their clinic. A baby girl named Marie was brought to the clinic by her mother. Marie's mother had been beaten by her husband who is a witch doctor and active in Voodoo. Marie was scheduled to be her fathers sacrafice for Voodoo. Her mom was shaken up and Marie was naked with a little brother by her side. The mom had tried to give Marie to people before but never did. She is a 7 month old baby who is chunky and as cute as can be. We ended up taking Marie and bringing her home with us. I had already said that whatever happened she could be my baby for the remainder of my trip. Im Kayla Marie and She is just Marie so it was meant to beeeeeee! haha. We have her home for about an hour and then the clinic calls saying her father is there looking for her and wants her back. My heart breaks. Knowing what her father was about and what actions he wanted to take with this baby girl was stomach turning. We had no choice but to take her back. But with much prayers and a absolutely amazing Savior with in another hour she was back at out house. Her father said he did not want her anymore and to do whatever. God works in unbelievable ways. She is beside me now asleep in a baby rocker and when she wakes up she is gettin' a bath! Pictures will soon be up! She is total gerber baby material! Such a blessing to have her here with us and me being able to love on her and help take care of her. Please continue to pray for her and her mother who has 2 other children. I am so blessed to be able to stay with a family here who is so willing to do Gods work and do what he calls. I will keep updates of how she is doing and how semi mommy life for me is! hahaha!

You will be blessed to be a blessing sweet Kayla. Keep your heart open to all the Lord has to offer you. We will lift this family up in prayer. It breaks my heart to know that the Mom and 2 other children are out there tonight with nothing. How old were the boys? What can be sent to them? Please see when you can. There's a team coming in 2 days and they may could help.
